Since Tejal and Nick live almost four hours away in Evansville, we wanted to be very particular about our shooting conditions when they made the trek up to Indy. So after rescheduling and rescheduling and rescheduling we finally made a call to just do it one day, even though the forecast wasn’t optimal. Well, as is typical with Indiana weather, the forecast was dead wrong and the rain held off completely! Since they had expressed a desire for something a bit more “modern,” I thought the downtown Indianapolis Public Library would do the trick. While I’d never shot there before, I drive by it all the time and the modern steel and glass architecture just seemed like the perfect fit, and it was! All was great until we were scolded and told we needed to purchase a permit to shoot there. Even on the outdoor public grounds. I know, right? But like we always say, it isn’t a party until we’ve been kicked out of somewhere!
We headed over to the canal because the Canal Square Apartments were where these two lovebirds first met. Afterwards we had dinner at one of our favorite spots in town, and then finished up in the dim evening light near Mass Ave. We’re pretty thrilled to be shooting our first Indian wedding in September, to say the least!
