When your mother asks, ‘Do you want a piece of advice?’ it’s a mere formality. It doesn’t matter if you answer yes or no. You’re going to get it anyway. — Erma Bombeck
A family that drives all the way from Texas for a portrait session with us, stays together. Okay, so, maybe they didn’t drive here *just* for pictures with us, but that’s the story I have told and will continue to tell.
In reality, some of the Lyons live here in Indiana. Some live in Texas. The Texas Lyons had planned a trip up to visit the Indiana Lyons, and several months prior, Mr. Lyon had been browsing geo-tagged photos from around where his family lives and found a senior portrait I had taken. The senior shoot was near a little tiny speck-of-a-town called Garfield, Indiana. Well, Mr. Lyon thought the pictures were very good and called me up and said “Hey. We are coming to town on X day, and would love family photos!”
And so it is written.
The dynamic and overall “spunk” of this group made for an extremely enjoyable time. We had a spectacular mix of three family generations and a dog. They were extremely lively, and I really feel it was captured accurately in these photos. Now I just need to find some time to head down to Austin for some good ol’ Texan hospitality.
